NCAS Committee Appointments and Position Available

National Coaching Accreditation Scheme (NCAS) committee member Ms Glenys Cox has been returned to the national committee following recent elections.

Ms Cox joins the newly appointed member Lyn Lynch (NSW) as well as members Tim Calkin (VIC) and Philippa Collier (WA) on the skills based panel.

The NCAS Committee as of October 2015:

Tim Calkin (VIC) (first term: to Nov 2016)
Phillipa Collier (WA) (second term: to Nov 2016)
Glenys Cox (QLD) (third term: to Nov 2017)
Lyn Lynch (NSW) (first term: to Nov 2017)

At the meeting of the NCAS Committee on 28/29 October, Glenys Cox was re-elected Committee Chairman.

Equestrian Australia (EA) thanks outgoing committee member Chris Hardwicke for his contribution to the NCAS Committee.

A fifth position on the Committee exists and EA now calls for applications from suitable candidates.

Positions on the Committee are open to any EA registered coach and is based on skills representation.

As per EA’s Committee By-Laws members are eligible to serve three consecutive terms each of two years duration before they are required to take a one year break.

The NCAS committee is primarily responsible for contributing to the development of policy and the monitoring of policy implementation for NCAS-related matters and areas. These include:

(a) Development/review of the Australian Sports Commission NCAS courses

(b) Development of coaches from junior to international level

(c) Education, assessment and accreditation of coaches of all disciplines

(d) Development of Community Education programs

(e) Recognition of Current Competency (RCC) applications

(f) Assistance in the development and implementation of EA NCAS operational plan

(g) Assistance in the conduct of National and International forums/seminars for Coaches, Coach educators, Skill Specific Trainers, Assessors and Community Education
