Equestrian Australia can confirm that due to a minor injury sustained by Lyndal Oatley's Sandro Boy, the combination will be unable to attend the 2012/2013 Reem Acra FEI World Cup Dressage Final.

Oatley recently secured a wildcard position from the FEI after Pacific League World Cup winner Rozzie Ryan and GV Bullwinkle and second place winner Maree Tomkinson and Diamantina 4 notified they were both unavailable to represent Australia at the World Cup Final.

While the news is disappointing for Australian fans, Oatley said a veterinary scan in the last 24 hours showed that Sandro Boy needed time to heal from a minor injury.

‘The scan and recommendation from the vet was to ensure there was no long term damage and in the interest of his future health and soundness, it was determined we should not compete at the World Cup Final,’ said Oatley.

“I was extremely excited when I recently received the wildcard as it is always an honour to represent your country.  While I am very disappointed, I need to take the advice of our vets,” she said.

Unfortunately with Ryan and Tomkinson unable to attend and Oatley and Sandro Boy the only Australia combination eligible for selection under the FEI rules Australia will not have a representative at the Reem Acra FEI World Cup Dressage Final in Sweden next month.
