Who Will be Crowned Australian Showjumping Champions?

The scene is set for a thrilling final day of competition at the Pryde’s EasiFeed Australian Showjumping Championships tomorrow at Werribee Park in Victoria.

Reigning Senior Australian Champion Jamie Kermond is at the top of the leader board going into the final of the senior title after going clear on Yandoo Oaks Constellation in yesterday’s second round qualifier.

Kermond has a 1.5 penalty lead over Aaron Hadlow on Vahlinvader and James Arkins is sitting in third with Da Vinci’s Pride. The narrow margin between the top three riders will make for a nail-biting final round.

The 2017 Australian Junior and Young Rider Championships will also be decided tomorrow in the Pryde’s EasiFeed Arena.

Defending Young Rider Champion Madeline Sinderberry is in the lead and Jessie Rice-Ward is equal first in the junior division with Conor Reed.

Top NSW based rider Tom McDermott dominated all the action in the main arena today with wins in the Future Stars and Mini Prix classes. It was the perfect way to celebrate his 24th birthday.

Tomorrow some of Australia’s biggest racing names including Melbourne Cup winning jockey Michelle Payne, leading trainer Mick Price, Peter Moody and former jumps jockey and Caulfield Cup winning trainer Ciaron Maher will play a role in the Off the Track Jockey Challenge from 10:30am.

Two riders at a time will compete in a best of three jumping rounds battle of the sexes. They will all be riding retired racehorses.
