Willinga Park Mourns Theodore

The Willinga Park team is mourning the loss of WillingaPark Theodore, an Australian Olympic hopeful for Tokyo 2020.

The 12-year-old KWPN gelding became ill in mid-June, and after three weeks of intense treatment at the Sydney University Equine Hospital, he passed away. Post-mortem results revealed a cancerous tumour near his right kidney.

“We are devastated by the loss of this beautiful horse,” said Terry Snow of Willinga Park.

“It’s a great shame that Australia will never again get the opportunity to watch Theodore compete. We will remember him always.”

Mr Snow bought Theodore on a trip to Europe in 2018 after being impressed with his high-quality breeding, outstanding performance and beautiful temperament.

Theodore came to Australia in December to begin a partnership with recognised dressage rider Brett Parbery and attend the nominated selection events for the Australian Olympic Team selection for Tokyo 2020.

Theodore was by Tuschinski x Prencis (Kennedy).

“WillingaPark Theodore will be sadly missed,” said Mr Snow.
