Brand and PR Specialist

Grow and manage the brand and profile development of a leading Olympic sport. 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the development of member and market driven strategies to deliver engagement and growth across all communication channels including digital and traditional platforms
  • Create and implement a PR strategy to support the business in line with our strategic plan
  • Build brand awareness and a positive reputation through creative marketing and PR campaigns
  • Execution of internal and external plans
  • Develop timely and exciting content for press materials, eDMs, editorial articles, social media and advertising to drive member and wider community engagement
  • Assist and implement media relations across the sport
  • Support with social media management and content planning
  • Establish quality and productive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Monitor media and the equestrian market place for trends, member activity and any relevant issues
  • Represent EA to enhance and strengthen our profile and brand to optimise opportunities for the development and growth of equestrian sport

Required Skills and Attributes:

  • Demonstrable experience in a public relations and/or brand management role
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to remain professional under pressure
  • Possess strong written and verbal skills and be able to communicate with others effectively and succinctly
  • Articulate with a calm and confident manner
  • Excellent analytical and organisational skills, with the ability to plan and efficiently manage multiple tasks to completion with a high level of attention to detail
  • Media relations experience with the ability to innovate and think creatively
  • B2B and B2C communications and tactical marketing experience 
  • Proven ability to ensure key messages are conveyed clearly and consistently within style and branding guidelines
  • Proven experience in managing complex organisational structures and processes
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, industry bodies, colleagues and the member community to enhance and strengthen EA's profile and reputation
  • Capacity to moderate and negotiate to achieve amicable and productive outcomes
  • Self-motivated, with the skill to problem solve and use initiative
  • Ensure appropriate regard to operational, legal, financial and reputational risk
  • Ability to cope with high pressure, tight deadlines and multiple, competing priorities
  • A reliable team player with a hands-on, can-do ethos
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and/or on a weekend, as required
