National Squads that identify potential Olympic/Paralympic & World Equestrian Games combinations are selected annually with a mid-year review.

Squads include:

• Elite/ WEG 2014 Squads – Athletes or Combinations that have been identified in contention for the Australian Team at the World Equestrian Games
• A Squad/ 2016 Rio Squad – Athletes or Combinations that show talent and may not be ready for the World Equestrian Games but may be ready for competition at the next Olympic Games
• Futures Squads/Youth squads – promising athletes and horses who show potential to compete at the elite level
