EA NCAS Coach Educator/SSTA Courses for 2011
Equestrian Australia will be running the following courses for Coach Educators and SSTAs (Skill Specific Trainer and Assessors) throughout Australia in 2011.
From now until the end of the year:
30 Sep – 2 October - Queensland
7 - 9 November - Victoria
2 - 4 December - Tasmania
Purpose
The courses have two purposes
1. to train and qualify new CEs and SSTAs
2. to provide an opportunity for existing SSTA and CEs to meet their biennial update requirements.
This Course is intended to provide all participants with the following which are essential to undertaking the CE/SSTA role:
- A greater understanding of EA Education (Riding and Horse Management) and Accreditation (Coaching) programs and courses
- A detailed understanding of EA NCAS Policies and Procedure
- EA Assessment Principles, Procedures and Guidelines
- A comprehensive understanding of course content, including the syllabi and learning guide, relating to Introductory and Level 1 Riding, Horse Management and Coaching (according to accreditation level)
- The skills and knowledge required to Assess and sign course verification (assessment) slips in regards to:
- Introductory and Level 1 Riding, Horse Management and Coaching (according to accreditation level)
The Program
Both new and updating Coach Educators must attend in full the 3 days of the course.
Both new and updating SSTAs need to attend day 1 and 2.
The three-day course will be intensive and all participants are required to attend a combination of theoretical and small group practical sessions.
The provisional timetable is as follows:
Day 1 – Theory – ASC Assessor & Mentor Training
Day 2 – Morning – ASC Assessor & Mentor Training (cont)
Day 2 - Afternoon - Practical Assessment of Riding and Horse Management
Day 3 – Practical Assessment of Coach Candidates
Cost (including lunch/ refreshments/learning materials):
New Coach Educators (3 days) $550 GST inclusive
Updating Coach Educators (3 days) $220 GST inclusive
New SSTAs (2 days) $320 GST Inclusive
Updating SSTAs (2 days) $150 GST inclusive
