ICDF Applications for 2007-2008 closing soon

EFA National Office, Friday, 25 May 2007

01 June 2007 is the deadline for applications and expressions of interest for grants from the International Competition and Development Fund (ICDF)in the 2007-08 financial year.

You can download the complete policy for the International Competition and Development Fund (ICDF) and application forms:
  • For major events MS Word
  • For individuals and smaller activities and events MS Word

Application Procedure

1.   Applications and supporting material should be sent in electronic format wherever possible.  This will assist speedy handling and distribution.

2.   For all events and activities taking place during the next “Financial Year” (01 July – 30 June) applications or Expressions of Interest must be submitted by 01 June.  A completed ICDF application form is required for events between 1 July and 31 December.  An Expression of Interest is sufficient at that stage (01 June) for events between 1 January and 30 June the following year but this needs to be followed up with a completed ICDF Application form by 01 December.  (Note: Event organisers need to advise the National Office before the end of September each year of their intention to run International events in the following year.)

Expressions of Interest simply indicate an intention to submit a formal application by 01 December.  EOIs can be a one- or two-page letter giving details of the event including a rough budget, explaining the purpose of the funding requested and indicating the amount of funding sought.

3.   Late applications may miss out on funding simply because available moneys have been allocated already.

4.   To be considered, the actual application must contain the following :

a)   a description of the project or event

b)   an explanation of how the project or event is recognised international competition or how it will further the development of the sport; and why it merits support;

c)   the amount that is requested;

d)   a budget for the project or event and details of where else you have applied for funding.

Please note: The ICDF is not intended to replace funding through other sources.  We expect that organisers make every effort to make the event self-funding through sponsorship, fees from participants and spectators, EFA Branch contributions and Government funding etc.

e)    an undertaking to comply with the conditions of the grant (see paragraph 4 in the next section)

5.   The Chair of the ICDF Committee may approve grants up to and including $1,000.  The ICDF Committee may approve grants of up to and including $10,000.  Grants of more than $10,000 must receive the approval of the Board.
