A Big Thank You to AOC and adidas

On behalf of our riders and coaches, the EFA would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Australian Olympic Committee and adidas. A number of elite riders and coaches recently received financial support from the AOC through the adidas Medal Incentive Scheme. The funding comes at what has been a difficult time for the sport of Equestrian.
This scheme recognises athletes (and their coaches) who won medals at world championships or other major international events of comparable standard in the period since the last Olympic Games.
This support will provide considerable assistance to our riders and coaches who have been severely disadvantaged by the Equine Influenza crisis which has affected our Olympic program since the outbreak last August.
In reference to the Medal Incentive Funding, AOC President John Coates AC said, “The athletes need and thoroughly deserve our financial help.” Mr Coates added, “We want our athletes to properly prepare for Beijing without having to worry about paying their bills and in some cases putting food on the table for their families”.
