Edwina Alexander finished in third place in the Grand Prix at the CSI 3/4* Arezzo Tour (ITA) last weekend riding her new horse Itot du Chateau.

Edwina was thrilled to finish a very close third on Itot in only their third Grand Prix as a partnership. “I was so happy because Jan (Jan Tops is Edwina's partner) had told me not to go fast in the jump off. So I went just nice enough and turned up short a few times but really didn't try to win. Then I saw that 1st, 2nd and 3rd were all on the same second! So I was very happy that he is naturally fast without even trying too much. I have a fantastic feeling with Itot and in such a short time. I feel like I have been riding him for a lot longer. I am very excited to jump some bigger competitions,” commented Edwina.

Edwina had never ridden the horse before it was purchased on 30 December by Stal Tops and one of Edwina’s owners, “I was in Australia and Jan surprised me on New Years Eve that I had a new horse in my name for the Australian passport,” said Edwina.

Itot stands at just 15.2hh but makes up for his small stature with impressive breeding, his sire is Le Tot de Semily, and on the dam side the sire is Galloubet.

Micheal Hecart rode him since he was a 6 year old and when he was 7 he won a six-bar competition by jumping  2.5 metres.

“I have always loved the horse and watched him at many shows.” said Edwina. Edwina is trying for Olympic selection on both Itot du Chateau and Isovlas Socrates and looks forward to an exciting partnership with her new little star.
