Johnson & Johnson gives $10,000 to Olympic Equestrians' families
|
The panel of the Johnson & Johnson Athlete Family Support Program have given $10,000 to the families and support members of riders selected for the 2008 Olympic Games to help ease the financial strain of riders’ families in the wake of Equine Influenza.
The grant is part of the Johnson and Johnson Athlete Family Support Program, a $200,000 pledge from Johnson & Johnson Pacific to help Australian Olympic athlete’s families and support members travel to the Olympic Games.
The panel has drawn on the program’s discretionary funds to assist the Equestrian Team’s families and support persons due to their special circumstances and hardships faced by the industry since the out break of Equine Influenza last August. The $10,000 will be divided between Olympic Team members after team selection is finalised. This money is in addition to the grant that the athletes may apply for on an individual basis.
Olympic Shadow Team members are reminded to apply for an individual grant by submitting the Athlete Selection Criteria document. Only athletes who are selected on the team will be eligible.
The EFA would like to extend sincere thanks to Johnson & Johnson for their consideration and generosity.
