Equestrian Land Developments DQ Young Riders Dressage Championships
The first CDI-Y in Queensland since the EI outbreak in August of 2007 was held at Caboolture Dressage Group, in Caboolture this past weekend, 13-15 June. Report courtesy of Lesley Sullivan The Judges for the weekend were Mary Seefried, Jan Bird and Jane Blomfield. The flying change sequences were also expensive mistakes for Victoria Welch riding the attractive mare Remi World Vision (by Wolkenstein II) who was 2nd on 60.167%. Kate Billings from WA who is currently training in NSW rode the expressive eleven-year-old Gracefield Fabian (Richmeed Medallion) who was a little too tight in the neck which put her in 3rd place with 59.00%. CDI-Y Young Rider Freestyle Jayden Brown on Widelo won the Young Rider Freestyle with close to 70% and gave a harmonious presentation characterised by a well developed collection, expressive half passes and extended trots. This time the flying change sequences came off. Jayden’s win was made sweeter by the fact that he was also celebrating his 20th birthday. Victoria Welch was a close second with her mare Remi World Vision. Her freestyle was creative and dramatic but again spoilt by some changes in the flying change sequences. Gracefield Fabian was third. The final qualifying CDI-Y for the FEI World Cup Dressage for Young Riders (being held in
