The AJC kindly invited members of the Eventing Team to enjoy a day at the races.   With the hectic schedules that the rest of the team currently have it was only Megan Jones and Assistant Coach Sam Lyle, accompanied by girlfriend Cass Mongomery, who were able to attend. 

It was a day of royal treatment for all.  Megan's hair and make-up was tended to in the Del-Aqua Pamper Palace before she was interviewed by Channel 7 and TVN.   Megan's TVN interview was broadcast on the big screen during the day giving her some excellent exposure. She also made it to the social pages of the Sunday Telegraph.

The hospitality of the AJC was amazing and everyone enjoyed mingling with the other guests in the Commitee Room and the David Jones marquee, all of whom loved checking out Megan's medal. The response to the Team's Olympic success was excellent and the Committee Members were very excited to have Megan and Sam as guests.

Noone was more surprised than Sam when Racing NSW boss Peter Vlandy's introduced himself and said "I have finally meet the famous Sam Lyle," as it turns out Peter formerly worked with Sam's sister and had heard alot about Sam and Eventing.
