AUS retains Trans-Tasman Jumping Trophy

The Kiwis had a few unlucky rails which was enough for the Australian Team to clench victory. The course, built by Gerrit Beker ( With one win for each team a count-back was required to decide the series winner. The Super League Grand-Prix was won by Katie McVean and Dunstan Forest II. Chris Chugg and Vivant were the fastest combination of the day. They were the last to go and while Chugg stopped the clock at 35.18, he paid for his speed with a rail at the last fence. The two were part of a 21 strong field who started in the Grand Prix. Seven went through to the jump off where McVean, first out, set a cracking pace going double clear in 36.38. The Australian combinations dominated the line-up with Peter McMahon on Kolora Stud Genoa placing second, Wendy Schaeffer on Koyuna Sun Set third, Chugg and Vivant fourth and Laurie Level on Ashleigh Drossel Dan sixth. The Australian riders now head to the Horse of the Year Show where most will line up in the prestigious Results for the Trans-Tasman (Hawera)
