Steffen Peters wins World Cup Final, Heath Ryan places 10th
German-born Steffen Peters and and his bay Dutch gelding Ravel became the first Americans ever to win the Rolex FEI World Cup Dressage Final on the night. (Debbie MacDonald and Brentina won the 2003 World Cup Dressage after the winner on the night, Ulla Salzgeber (GER) and Rusty, were disqualified.) Friday, 17 Aprl 2009 Heath Ryan and Regardez Moi place 11th in the Grand Prix. Steffen Peters and Ravel were the clear winners of the Grand Prix with 77.914%, followed by Anky van Grunsven (NED) and Isabell Werth (GER). Placing 11th out of 14, Heath will now proceed to the Grand Prix Freestyle and will the the first to ride on Saturday. | |
