The NZL team have had a convincing win over the AUS team on the weekend at the Young Rider Trans-Tasman event held at Camperdown.

The AUS team ended the first day of competition with a slight lead of 6.8 penalities following the Dressage. However, on the second day the NZL team overpowered the AUS team with a convincing cross country phase conceding just 2 time penalities to lead the AUS team by over 30 points going into the Jumping phase. The NZL team then pressed forward with an emphatic display of jumping with all NZL team members jumping clear rounds. Well done to the NZL team for their fantastic performance!

A big thank you must go to the Camperdown Horse Trials committee, along with Barry and Lyn Roycroft, for hosting and organising this event. This competition is a valuble lesson for Young Riders, giving them an opportunity to compete in an International Team environment. Thanks must also go to the Corangamite Shire Council for holding a civic reception for both teams, Prue Barrett, the Australian Team Coach, and Niki Chapman, the Chef d'Equipe, for their efforts.

Sights will now be set to next years competition, where we are sure AUS will be out to 'rescue' the trophy from across the Tasman!
