Bill Levett 3rd at Saumur CCI 3*
Australia's Bill Levett finished third at Saumur CCI 3* last weekend riding Hippolyte. Kiwi veteran Andrew Nichloson led from start to finish win the weekend's CCI 3* Saumur Horse Trials on Avebury. Nicholson has just three time faults in his jumping round, to end on 49.90 penalties. The win is Avebury's first at three-star level. The nine-year-old grey by Jumbo was fifth at Boekelo last October in his first three-star start Clayton Fredericks, who was second going into the final phase, had a horror jumping round on Poilu, dropping five rails to add 20 penalties to his score. He ended 10th overall, with 68.10 penalties. 14-year-old Hippolyte a French bred Chestnut gelding by Tolbial Des Halles, has had some other good results in the past year including 6th at the Burnham Market CIC 3* in April, 4th in a Advanced /Intermediate at Gatcombe in March, 3rd at Kreuth CIC3* in September last year and winning an Advanced division at The Festival of British Eventing last August. Second at Saumur was French rider Arnaud Boiteau and Expo du Moulin, who ended with 51.50. Bill Levett also finished 33rd aboard Sparkling Opposition. Well done Aussies.
