Appointment of Para-Equestrian Chef d’Equipe
Equestrian Australia is pleased to announce the appointment of Sally Francis as Chef d'Equipe for the Australian Para-Equestrian Team. Sally now joins National Coach Julia Battams, Chair of Selectors Pauline Perry, Team Vet Janine Dwyer and Sport Representative Sharyn Gregory on the Para-Equestrian High Performance Panel. “We welcome Sally to the High Performance Program and look forward to benefiting from her many years of experience and expertise in not only Para-Equestrian sport, but Equestrian sport in general. Without a doubt, this experience and expertise will be invaluable as we prepare for the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky next year” said High Performance Manager Brett Mace. “Sally played a pivotal role as Assistant Coach at the 2008 Paralympic Games and this appointment will be well received and welcomed by Australian Para-Equestrian riders.” said Mace. Equestrian Australia established the Para-Equestrian High Performance Program in January this year in partnership with the Australian Paralympic Committee to prepare Australian Para-Equestrian teams for the Paralympics and World Equestrian Games. Para-Equestrian riders will compete at the World Equestrian Games for the first time in Kentucky next year. Equestrian Australia wishes Sally and the team all the best as they prepare over the next 15 months for Kentucky.
