BOYD EXELL

Boyd Exell is an Australian professional carriage driving trainer. He is a multiple World Four-In-Hand Carriage Driving Champion.

Boyd has been involved in equestrian sport since he was 8 years old. At 16, he won the Australian pairs championship. Aged 21 he left Australia for Britain to improve his riding and especially his carriage driving talent.

Boyd, having been based in the UK for 20 years is now based in Valkenswaard, Netherlands. 

In 2012 (Kentucky, USA) and 2014 (Normandy, France), he won Gold at the World Equestrian Games.

In 2015 he wrote history in Bordeaux by winning the FEI World Cup Driving championship for the sixth time.

Boyd was also awarded the prestigious FEI Best Athlete award in 2015.

Boyd won the CAIO in Aachen several times.

He is also a multiple winner of the International Athlete of the Year award having taken home the honours in 2010, 2013 2014, 2015, 2016.

He was inducted in the Equestrian Australia Hall of Fame in March 2017.
