I only coach part time. Is my liability any different to a full-time coach?
It's arguable that a part-time coach carries a lower risk of a claim, simply because they spend less time engaged in activities that could give rise to one. In practice, though, risk is rated on a range of factors — including the coach's level of accreditation, the disciplines taught, the skill and experience of the riders, and the quality of the facilities — not just hours worked.
As it stands, EA Coach insurance is charged at a flat rate regardless of the scope of a coach's activities, so part-time and full-time coaches pay the same.
