2nd place for Australia in the Polish leg of the FEI Nations Cup™ Eventing

What an enjoyable weekend for the fans of Eventing ! Our Australian team of Chris Burton (Haruzac), Andrew Hoy (Cheeky Calimbo) and Kevin McNab (Casperelli) finished in second place of the FEI Nations Cup™ Eventing Series 2015 at the Strzegom International Horse Trials CICO3*, in Poland.

The Australian team was leading after the Dressage phase, and individually Andrew Hoy (39.10) was in second place and Chris Burton (43.60) in fourth. The cross-country went well for our trio and the Australian team remained in contention, holding down second place and only 2.4 penalties behind Great-Britain. Individually Chris Burton and Haruzac were leading the field, Andrew Hoy and Cheeky Calimbo were third and Kevin McNab and Casperilli were 9th.

The Jumping phase on Sunday seemed difficult for all the riders with only five clear rounds in the class and sadly, none for our Aussies, but with the overhall good results of the weekend the team kept its second place in the ranking behind Great Britain with 168.70 to 150.30 for the English team. Andrew Hoy was the best placed of the Australians in fourth place with Cheeky CalimboChris Burton fifth with Haruzac and Kevin McNab 10th with Casperelli.

McNab also finished seventh with his second horse, Dustman, in the CICO3* and in the CCI2* Andrew Hoy was 5th with the 14-year-old Irish gelding previously ridden by Sandra Auffarth The Blue Frontier .

The next leg of the Nations Cup will be held in Aachen, Germany, from 11 - 14 August.
