Andrew Lamb takes out Jumping Dual Crown in a close encounter

The Equestrian Australia JUMPING Dual Crown Champion title was awarded to Andrew Lamb, riding CP Argento, after the FEI Jumping World Cup Qualifier in Adelaide yesterday.

While Jamie Kermond held top position on the leaderboard after the Australian Showjumping Championships, Lamb was able to add to his points, jump to the top and claim the Crown.

Having carried forward 8 points from the Australian Showjumping Championships, Lamb needed to finish 7th or higher in the World Cup on Sunday (with other results also going his way) to take out the championship.

After jumping clear in the first round of competition he returned to the arena in the second round where he finished with 2 fences down, leaving a tight scoreboard to see final placings. Finally finishing in 6th place, it gave Lamb enough points to take out the Dual Crown Championship.

On winning the Jumping Dual Crown, Lamb said, “ I think the introduction of the Dual Crown is a fantastic initiative and offers an additional dimension to the show jumping calendar. With both competitions taking place at wonderful events such as the Australian Showjumping Championships and the Australian 3 Day Event, I would like to thank the event organisers for the work they put in.  I have been extremely happy with my horse who has been consistent at Grand Prix level and I am very proud to top it off with this win”.
