Caboolture Horseland Festival of Showjumping & World Cup Qualifier 2018

Across three days at the Queensland State Equestrian Centre there was a very high standard of jumping achieved, culminating in a number of prestigious classes being decided on Sunday.

YOUNG RIDER CHAMPIONSHIP – 1.20m

In what was a well-deserved victory, Sean Geraghty and his 10 year old Gelding Regal Rock took out the Young Rider Championship. As the only double clear combination in the field of 22 starters, Sean and Regal Rock, were clear winners from Brittney Withers on Kerrie Valley Daktari in 2nd and Brittany Murphy riding Shes a Diva in 3rd.

The first round saw six riders clear with Brook Langbecker and Flowervale Diamond the fastest by just over two seconds. The addition of the six fastest non-clear combinations ensured an exciting jump-off.

Second placed Brittney Withers on Kerrie Valley Daktari cleared every rail in the two rides, however a slow jump-off saw just the one penalty incurred. Brittany Murphy and Shes a Diva also cleared every rail, but a very slow first round saw two time penalties to secure 3rd place. All other pairs had at least one rail down.

Third place was taken by Natalie Tucker, in combination with her 9-year-old mare Finch Farm Canoodle.
