The FEI Eventing FAQs have just been republished after a long absence. They are an excellent reference tool when read in conjunction with the Eventing rules. 

Are you familiar with the current 2019 Eventing Use of Tack, Equipment and Dress FAQ? 

"The horse in this XC pic is wearing a Micklem bridle, allowed in all three phases; note, use of the Micklem clips is not allowed in the dressage phase."
