Geoff Sinclair announced Equestrian Official for Rio 2016

Australia's Geoff Sinclair has been appointed Assistant Technical Delegate for Eventing at the 2016 Rio Olympics Games. He will be working alongside the Technical Delegate Alec Lochore (GBR). 

Marilyn Payne (USA) has been chosen as President of the Ground Jury for Eventing and working with her will be Sandy Phillips (GBR) and Andrew Bennie (NZ).

Pierre Michelet (FRA) will be the course designer.  The Eventing Chief Steward will be Jürgen Petershagen (GER), and Christian Landolt (SUI) is the Eventing member of the Appeal Committee.

Sinclair’s contribution to equestrian sport stretches back many years and Rio will not be the first Olympic Games which he has officiated at. His previous roles include officiating at the 2002 World Equestrian Games in Jerez (ESP) and 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. At the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games Sinclair was the Cross Country Course Controller. Sinclair has been a member of Equestrian Australia for over 35 years and was EA Chairman from 2006-08. At the 2006 World Equestrian Games he was Chef de Mission for the Australian team.
