Hazel Shannon takes out the Eventing Dual Crown as well as the AUS3de

In its inaugural year, the Equestrian Australia EVENTING Dual Crown Champion was awarded to Hazel Shannon.

While Olympians Stuart Tinney and Shane Rose held 1st and 2nd position on the leaderboard after the Melbourne 3 Day Event, Hazel Shannon was able to add to her 6 points owned at Melbourne (5th in the CCI3*) the 15 points rewarded for winning the CCI4* at the Australian International 3 Days Event in Adelaide this weekend. Adelaide 4* as the ‘final’ and tougher event gains more points.

“The event is as good as it always is, it is a fabulous event and the organisers do a great job to run it. I have never met anyone who’s come here and been disappointed. Of course, I owe it my great horse, owner, coach and my family. Winning both the Adelaide 4*and the Equestrian Australia Eventing Dual Crown has made it a fabulous weekend and I couldn’t be happier” said Hazel.

Points were given for both the CIC3* at Melbourne and Adelaide and the CCI3* and CCI4* at Melbourne and Adelaide so to maximise the number of combinations able to participate, but both events gain points for the same Eventing leaderboard.

The Equestrian Australia JUMPING Dual Crown Champion was awarded to Andrew Lamb. Read more HERE.
