Key appointments for Dr Denis Goulding

The Equestrian Australia (EA) Board is pleased to announce that Dr Denis Goulding has accepted the role of National Medication Control Officer.

His appointment follows the retirement of Dr Warwick Vale who served in the role since 2004. Dr Vale established an international reputation for Australia as having the very highest of standards in terms of swabbing procedure.  EA and its officials hold Dr Vale in the highest regard both for the quality of the work and support he offered officials and Equestrian Australia sincerely thanks him for his dedicated service to our sport. Dr. Vale will continue to be active in medication control through his new role of Equestrian Western Australia's Branch Medication Control Officer.

Dr Goulding will be conducting courses in the next twelve months for swabbing stewards and their technical assistants in line with the new FEI requirements for swabbing procedure which come into effect in 2016.

Dr Goulding, a member of Equestrian Australia’s Hall of Fame, has also been appointed veterinarian of the Australian Para-Equestrian Team for the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games, a position he takes on having served as Australian team vet at six Olympic Games.
