Rowan Willis on WEG Shortlist Selection

Rowan Willis has been named on the Australian Jumping Shortlist ahead of the FEI World Equestrian Games™ Tryon 2018 this September. This weekend he won the $35,000 1.45m CSI 3* in Tryon, aboard Everse W and achieved eighth place aboard his own Shark, but for WEG, he is counting on his talented 12-year-old Anglo European mare Blue Movie.

You and Blue Movie have been in great form of late. This must be very pleasing, especially ahead of WEG?

Blue Movie is feeling great this year, I think she likes America! She gives everything for me all the time, so yes it's very pleasing and exciting.

Things have really come together for you both in recent months, what’s been the key?

Patience, planning and a good team. I had planned to come to America this year for a while, so I aimed all the horses towards it, produced them to be on their best form for this year.

What would it mean to you to represent AUS at WEG this year?

I always represent Australia at every international show, but to be part of an Australian team at WEG would be a very proud moment, especially as I think we will have a very strong team.
