Samorin, the kingdom of endurance

From September 15th to 18th, it is an exceptional event which will take place in Samorin, Slovakia on one of the most modern European riding center, x-bionic® sphere, the Longines FEI World Endurance Championship 2016.

Not less than 45 countries and 160 riders will meet up on the start line for a mass start at 6:00 in the morning on Saturday, September, 17th.

After an opening ceremony on Thursday, September, 15th at 8pm and before the prize giving ceremony after the race at 9:30pm, the competitors will have to ride 160 km along the romantic Danube river, around Bratislava nearby the Little Carpathian Mountains.

The 5 loops race (40, 35, 35, 30, 20 km) will offer different landscape with grass, field and forest roads. 

Very famous riders are expected in Samorin, like Maria Alavarez Ponton (from Spain), multiple medal winner in the biggest endurance events and currently number one in the world ranking list.

Australia will be well represented with WEG representative and Tom Quilty Endurance Gold Cup winner Ben Hudson & Oso Cap Braveheart, 2015 Ariat International Athlete of the Year Award Finalist Rebecca Pinder & Safwa, Sasha Laws-King & Oso Edith, Jodie Salinas & Koela De La Dour and Alexandra Toft & Dream Dancer te.

The French rider Jean-Philippe Frances, individual bronze medallist in the last FEI European Championships 2015 (in Samorin) and 2nd with the French team will try to do better this year with his loyal Secret de Mon Coeur.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed al Maktoum will be present. Individual Gold in the last World Equestrian Games (Normandy 2014), team and individual Gold medal at the WECH 2012 in Euston Park (GBR), Team Gold at Lexington (WEG 2010). He, his phenomenal mare Ajayeb and the UAE team are committed to keep their title.

During 4 days, the x-bionix® equestrian sphere will be the place to be for all Endurance sport lovers.
