South Australia Hosts ‘Off Horse’ Workshop

A national series of ‘Off Horse’ High Performance workshops continued this month with South Australia the next port of call.

The event was part of Equestrian South Australia’s on-going commitment to further the education and development of its Squad riders.

“The assistance given by Equestrian Australia High Performance has been a contributing factor in supporting the State to achieve this outcome.”

“The one thing that has stayed in my mind from the forum is it is difficult to be PERFECT however with minimal alteration we can try to PER–FECT our skills. Same spelling different meaning,” said Equestrian South Australia CEO Sharon Cimarosti.

Presenters that shared their invaluable knowledge and insights included Gina Haddad from Equestrian Australia’s High Performance team, highly credentialed sports physiotherapist Andrew Clarkson, sports psychologist Geoff Boylan Marsland who has worked with Netball Australia’s High Performance programme and the Adelaide Thunderbirds and digital and social media consultant Kate Potter. Potter focussed on the power of social media and importance of personal branding.

Athletes in attendance included Olympic silver medallist & eventer Megan Jones, vaulter Zac Singlehusrt who represented Australian at the World Equestrian Games in 2014 and Kimberley Norris from the discipline of Driving. Selected athletes from Jumping, Dressage and Show Horse were also invited to participate.
