Stunning eventing weekend for Australian riders

Australian triple Olympic gold medallist Andrew Hoy and the experienced four-star horse Algebra have won the Montelibretti CCI3*, in the province of Rome (Italy) this weekend. After Saturday's cross-country test, Andrew and Algebra were in top position (dresssage score : 45,6) with a clear round inside the time.  They consolidated their lead on Sunday with a beautiful clear round and good time in the Jumping test. Hoy has only recently partnered with the grey thoroughbred Algebra, taking over the ride from Natalie Blundell after Algebra relocated to the UK from Australia.

Levett's double clear had him sitting in 5th place on 48.6 penalties ahead of the Jumping test and he finished the event in tenth place. Unfortunately for fellow Aussie Kate Chadderton, her weekend ended prematurely after a fall on Cross Country. Chadderton was able to walk from the course following the fall. Her horse Collection Pass is fine.
