Trainee Coach Insurance

To align with current best practice, Equestrian Australia’s (EA) Coach Insurance Program will see all new Trainee Coaches protected under the insurance of the EA Coach Educator who is in charge of supervising their training. This will mean all NEW Trainee Coaches will no longer be required to purchase trainee insurance. These changes will come into effect immediately.

This approach will not only mean a cost saving to candidates taking their first step into the EA NCAS coaching system but will also act as a deterrent to Trainee Coaches from coaching unsupervised.

It is an EA requirement that Trainee Coaches train under the direct supervision of a current and accredited Coach Educator at all times.

Trainee Coaches who have already purchased insurance for the current financial year may continue to operate within the parameters of the policy until it expires on 30 June 2016, or may seek a refund as detailed below.

What does this mean for me?

Existing Trainee Coaches

If you have purchased Trainee Coaches Insurance for the period 2015-16 then you will be entitled to a refund. You will receive an email from the National Office in the coming days with details on how you may obtain this. Alternatively, you may keep your policy and operate within the parameters of the policy until it expires on 30 June 2016.

I am a Coach Educator operating under an alternative insurance provider?

You will need to contact your insurance provider directly. EA’s insurance program only indemnifies those coaches which have their policy with EA.
