Wellington CDIO3* FEI Nations Cup

An Australian team entry has been submitted for the first leg of the FEI Nations Cup Dressage Season 2016 to be held 29 March-03 April.

The Australian Team named to compete is as follows:

  • Kelly Layne and Von Primaire
  • Kim Gentry and Leonardo
  • Nicholas Fyffe and Botijero PC
  • Ilse Schwarz and Cadenza

High Performance Dressage Generation Next athlete Nicholas Fyffe is pleased to once again ride on an Australian team.

“This will be my fifth consecutive year as a member of the Australian team at Wellington Nations Cup. I'm riding Botijero PC who is owned by Naomi Sermer. She imported him from Spain and has trained with my husband, Canadian Olympian, David Marcus and I at Marcus Fyffe Dressage for the past year and a half.

"Naomi is preparing Botijero PC for the under 25 Grand Prix. We decided that having me ride him in this Nations Cup is a great opportunity to expose the horse to international atmosphere and judges prior to Naomi making her international debut. He's a very talented and generous horse.

"I find dressage is already a team sport event when competing individually. It takes owners, trainers, grooms, vets, farriers and an entire national federation, however, it's always an honour to represent your country on an international team,” said Fyffe.

The CDIO3* hosted in Wellington, Florida (USA) 29 March-03 April 2016 kicks off the 2016 Nations Cup circuit of seven team contests, the others being Odense, Denmark May 12-15; Compiègne, France May 19-22; Rotterdam, Netherlands June 22-26; Falsterbo. Sweden July 7-10, Aachen, Germany July 13-17, and Hickstead, England July 28-31.
