1990 Stockholm WEG rider will return to the international arena at Horses & Dreams

Part of the Australian Dressage Team at the very first World Equestrian Games at Stockholm in 1990 with his horse Tutenkhamen, Peter John Weston will return to the international arena today at the Horses & Dreams event in the CDI1* with his wife's mount Dundee 115. A nine year old by Don Frederico, Peter told Ozdressage.com it is the gelding's first international start with the long term plan being to help support wife Cornelia who will ride him at national competitions while Peter takes on the bigger shows as they work towards the Grand Prix.

Born in Rockhampton, Queensland Australia, Peter John Weston grew up in Capella, Central Highlands. A Professional rider since leaving school, he has competted successfully throughout Australia. He travelled to Europe to develop skills as a rider and teacher, earning qualifications from the BHS (British Horse Society). In the early 80´s he started his own performance stables in Jimboomba, Queensland, Australia specializing in Dressage. Peter competted at several Australian National Championship with wins up to and including Grand Prix and competted for Australia in the 1990 World Equestrian Games in Stockholm, Sweden. They were the first edition of the games which are held every four years and run by the FEI. In 1990 he established a Dressage stable in Lüdinghausen, Germany. He qualified and started several horses at National (Germany) Championships for young horses. On his records are national and international wins and placings up to and including Grand Prix. Peter is specialized in the selection and training of horses for the Grand Prix Sport. He competed until 2008 in CDI3* and 5* in Europe. 

THE EVENT 

22/04/2015 UPDATE : Sadly, Peter John Weston's horse did not pass the fitness inspection on Tuesday afternoon and will not take part in this competition. Hope to see him soon again !
