2016 Boneo Park Cup Showcases future of Australian Jumping

  • Record number of entries in 2016 Boneo Park Cup

  • Future stars flock to Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula for a weekend of top-class competition

  • Close to 500 horse and rider combinations set to compete over  threedays in warm up to Australian National Jumping Championships

Some of Australia’s top jumping talent is set to ignite Boneo Park over three days of top-class competition at the 2016 Boneo Park Cup, from Friday 9th through to Monday 12th September.

Set in the grounds of Boneo Park on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, the BoneoPark Cup attracts riders and spectators from across Australia in what is now  considered to be the unofficial warm up to the Australian National Jumping Championships.

Now in its third year, the Cup‘s feature class - the Boneo Park Cup Grand Prix on Sunday 11th at 12pm - showcases some of the country’s best up-and-coming riders such as Shane Davidson, James Arkins and Savannah Hopkinson. Along with the Young Rider Championship and Mini Prix, the Boneo Park Cup Grand Prix is a must see for spectators. Boneo Park’s Director of Jumping, Scott McNaught said Boneo Park was thrilled to host junior, amateur and young riders in an event that clearly resonates so well with the equestrian and local community. “This year we’re thrilled to have so many young riders who represent the new faces and future of Australian Jumping.” “Overall, it’s clear that Australia’s top riders appreciate the opportunity to compete here. It certainly fills us with optimism about our facilities and the future of Boneo Park.”

Covering over 800 acres, Boneo Park is amongst the most respected and soughtafter competition facilities in the equestrian industry.

For the first time, the 2016 Boneo Park Cup will be followed by a training day on Monday 12th September.

“This provides riders with the opportunity to fine tune their preparation ahead of the national championships”, said Scott. “It’s a unique experience for some junior and amateur riders to live their dreams and compete at Boneo Park, and thanks to the support of our sponsors, we’re delighted we can make this possible for them.”

The 2016 Boneo Park Cup is proudly sponsored by Equestrian Australia, Total Animal Supplies, Arch & Alex, Horse Barn and CWD. Riders will chase a prize pool of $20,000. The event is open to spectators free of charge across the weekend of competition.
