In Aachen Boyd Exell takes the lead

The 2016 World Equestrian Festival in Aachen is underway ! The top equestrian athletes in the world meet up to contest against each other in the 5 disciplines : Jumping, Dressage, Eventing, four-in-hand Driving and Vaulting.

Since the beginning of the competitions, the German weather is being hesitant, alternating between sun and heavy rain showers. On Wednesday that didnt't stop Reigning World Champion Boyd Exell from winning the first Dressage Test (FEI Dressage Test 8A) that was a rehearsal before Thursday's official dressage test for that counts for both the Individual and Team Rankings.

Thursday, Boyd did another incredible job, performing a beautiful test and taking the lead in the individual standings ahead of Chester Weber, second and Ijsbrand Chardon, third.

The Netherlands took the lead in the team competition with two drivers in the top four. The United States are second and Hungary is third.

On Friday, the competitors will be tested for their tactics in the Cones competition and on Saturday they will battle for the rankings in the marathon.

Don't miss on Saturday evening : Boyd Exell and the five other finalists of the FEI World Cup™ Driving Final in Bordeaux will enter the impressive main stadium with their second four-in-hand team to compete next to two show jumpers and an eventing rider in Aachen's spectacular Jump & Drive class.
