Australian Dressage - How Good Is This

Our Olympic Dressage team, for the first time ever, head to Tokyo from three different corners of the globe.

Across three continents, Mary Hanna and Calanta (Australia), Simone Pearce and Destano (Europe) and Kelly Lane and Samhitas (North America), will team up at Equestrian Park in Tokyo.

Mary is heading into her sixth Olympic Games, along with Andrew Hoy (eight Games!). Our two most experienced equestrians are also our Australian teams’ most experienced international athletes.

Field of Play familiarisation begins on the 21st July, after the first horse inspection of the 60 fabulous horses, whose training and preparation has seen them through to the ultimate stage - down that centre line at an Olympic Games.

And for all of us, it doesn’t get better than this – a week of Dressage, with the first day of competition kicking off at the Australian-friendly time of 6pm AEST (5pm Japan)…luxury hours after the Games held the UK and Brazil.

Just saying ‘Good Luck’ hardly meets the strength of support, goodwill and Best Wishes we’re all sending our Dressage, Eventing and Jumping teams, their owners and grooms - how about instead: ‘Ganbatte Minasan’ (Good Luck Everyone) - it says it all!

On behalf of every Dressage rider, in every corner of Australia, Ganbatte Minasan from the EADC Committee.

Prue Spurrett, Virginia Creed, Gill Botten, Julie Ely Jones, Maria Schwennesen and Maree Tomkinson
