Equestrian Australia Casual Board Vacancy

Mr David Lindh OAM has been appointed to the board of Equestrian Australia (EA) filling a casual vacancy position.

Mr Lindh is a highly credentialed professional with experience in corporate and commercial matters, both as a lawyer and as a company director. He received an Order of Australia Medal in 2008 for his services to business in particular as a company director in the energy and resources industry and to equestrian sport.

Mr Lindh has been involved in equestrian sport for more than 40 years as a rider, breeder and volunteer and his involvement spans the disciplines of show jumping, dressage, driving and eventing. He was the longstanding Chairman of Australia’s International Three Day Event between 2000 and 2010.

Mr Lindh said he was eager to contribute his skills and expertise to Equestrian Australia

"I look forward to continuing my service to the equestrian community as a whole and at a level where hopefully I can contribute to the ongoing development of Equestrian Australia."

EA Chair Judy Fasher said the board was pleased to welcome Mr Lindh to the board.

"Mr Lindh’s very considerable experience will be welcomed by both our members and existing board members and we thank him for giving his time to the sport.

Mr Lindh’s appointment follows EA’s recent call for nominations to fill casual vacancy positions on the board. His nomination was endorsed by the board after a nominations committee comprising two national board members, a state chair and a representative from the Australian Sports Commission reviewed all applications.

Vacant board positions will be filled near the time of the October Annual General Meeting, with details to be published on the EA website shortly.

Mr Lindh’s casual vacancy term will conclude in October 2016.
