Equestrian Australia pays tribute to Jo Edwards

South Australian Jo Edwards is remembered for her dedication to Equestrian and in particular eventing.

The extent of Jo’s dedication varied from the founding member of the Mylor Pony Club to officiating at the Sydney Olympic Games as a technical officer.

In her 30 year involvement in eventing, Jo obtained many qualifications as an Equestrian Official. She was a Cross Country Course Designer, a Technical Delegate and was an FEI Chief Steward. Jo was on the SA Eventing Committee and also served as a Board Member for Equestrian SA for most of her career.

Many will remember Jo for running Kirkcaldy Park Horse Trials on her property which is one of South Australia’s biggest and best run Horse trials making Kirkcaldy Park Horse Trials one of the few Horse Trials to be held on private property.

Co-committee member Gill Rolton said “Jo was known for her amount of strength, foresight, and purpose in life. Someone who was very organised, punctual, goal oriented, with a focus on the ‘End Game’, a big smile and a huge passion for all things equestrian”.

“Jo was a ‘doer’ she would always do what she promised, never shirked responsibility or hard work and was completely dependable,” said Rolton.
