Gavin Chester appointed National Jumping Committee Chair

Olympian Gavin Chester has been appointed the new Chair of the National Jumping Committee (NJC).

Mr Chester represented Australia at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games and is an active member of the Australian Jumping Committee, also serving as Chair of the Australian Show Jumping Championships.

He replaces outgoing NJC Chair Mr John Vallance who is required to vacate the position due to Committee By-Laws which require committee members to step down for at least one year after serving a maximum of three terms of two years.

Mr Vallance was first appointed to the NJC in 2009 and took on the role of Chair in 2013.

EA thanks John Vallance for his longstanding service to the sport. The experience and dedication of all EA’s committee members is essential to the further development of equestrian sport.
