Sydney CDI Para-Equestrian Freestyle Results

The final nomination event for Australian based Rio Para-Equestrian hopefuls concluded in Sydney today with riders performing their Freestyle tests.

While the results from the Freestyle have no bearing on team selection, the outing gave athletes another opportunity to compete at the Sydney CDI and fine tune their riding skills.

Lisa Martin riding First Famous had an excellent result in the Grade 4, riding to a result of 76.08 to convincingly win the class.

In Grade 3 it was two time World Equestrian Games bronze medallist Sharon Jarvis who came away with the win. Riding Ceasy, Jarvis scored 68.00.

Anne Skinner and Freedom Spyda won the Grade 2 class with a score of 70.08 while in Grade 1B, Joann Formsoa and GB Winchester received a strong 72.50.

Overseas, a host of Aussie riders stepped out to compete in the Deauville CPEDI, which is a nomination event for European based Aussie hopefuls.

Katie Umback had a good result against a strong international field. The grade 3 rider and her horse Gronskovlunds Marquis scored 70.553 in the team's test which secured them second position.

Later today riders will complete the Individual Championship.
