World Equestrian Games Dressage Nominations - Written Decisions of Appeals Board

The independent appeals board which heard the appeal lodged by dressage rider Briana Burgess in relation to her non-nomination to Australia's dressage team for the FEI World Equestrian Games (WEG) 2014 has published its written decisions from the hearing.

The written decisions can be downloaded HERE.

In accordance with the independent appeals board's ruling, La Scala was required to undergo a veterinary assessment by an Australian team vet on 11 August 2014. The independent appeals board’s ruling permits a secondary examination of the horse on Tuesday 12 August if deemed necessary by the Australian Team Vet. Equestrian Australia can confirm that this subsequent veterinary examination will take place.

The independent appeals board’s ruling also requires La Scala to present ‘drug free’ to both veterinary examinations and testing will be carried out in accordance with FEI procedures to ensure the horse is adhering to these requirements.
