Todd Hinde

High Performance Jumping Manager / Jumping Chef D’Equipe

  

What does your role entail?

I am in charge of the Jumping High Performance Program, focused on the current cycle Tokyo 2020, also the future cycle, The Youth Olympic Games, Paris and Los Angeles Olympics 2024, 2028. I am the Chef D’Equipe for all Australian Teams Competition.

What’s the problem you most commonly solve in your role?

Every day is a different day, the most common daily role is ensuring riders' entries are correct.

If you could pick a superpower, what would you choose?

To fly.

What’s your favourite horse breed and horse colour?

Mare, dark brown Mongolian Horse.

What’s your favourite equestrian discipline?

Show jumping.

What’s the coolest thing about your job?

Being a part of a team that are all striving for the best for our sport.

What is your equestrian background?

Pretty much as soon as I could walk I was on a horse. I went through Pony Club, with a passion for jumping. I moved to Europe to ride and train before heading back to Australia, and taking up the position I’m in now.

If you were an animal, what would you be and why?

An ant, because they're hard workers and the ultimate team players.

What is the nerdiest thing you do in your free time?

I don’t really do any nerdy things.
