CEO Update - December 2023

As we near the end of the year, I would like to take the opportunity to celebrate the achievements of 2023 and extend my heartfelt appreciation to all those who have made valuable contributions to our sport this year.

First and foremost, I would like to thank our dedicated staff, officials, and volunteers. Your unwavering commitment, tireless efforts, and passion for equestrian sports have been instrumental in our success. Your hard work behind the scenes has allowed us to deliver quality events, provide valuable services, and support our members throughout the year.

In the past month, we have seen some great events that have highlighted the exceptional level of competition in our country, including the Australian Jumping Championships, the Sydney International 3DE, and the Show Horse National Championship. I congratulate the organising committees for delivering these competitions and also recognising some great performances from our competitors..

We have made significant efforts this year to enhance the experience for our members and implement necessary improvements to your membership. We will continue to seek your feedback.

With regards to the structural reform, we recently held a strategic forum which brought together more than 60 stakeholders, including board members, staff, representatives from state branches, and members of national and state discipline committees. At this forum, some of the key questions around the restructure processes and the transition of our sport towards a discipline-based model were discussed. The forum was constructive and provided valuable input.

2024 should be another exciting year, with the Paris Olympics and Paralympics and further change and progress on structural reform, IT and digital transformation, shared services, coaching and officials, education and more.  

I would like to wish every member of our equestrian community a safe and happy Christmas and extend my thanks to everyone who has contributed to our sport over the past year.
