EA Statement: Changes to EACC Structure

Coaches play a vital role in the sport of Equestrian, providing guidance, expertise and support to athletes, as well as the critical touchpoint for new participants entering the sport. Coaching remains a high priority for Equestrian Australia (EA) and we look to continue to improve the processes, systems, education and tools to support coaches and athlete development.

As part of the Nationally Aligned Strategy & Structure Review, the decision was made to pause and reassess the National EA Coaching Committee structure in its current form. This decision reflects the Board’s appreciation of the pivotal role played by coaches in our sport and a commitment to prioritise coaching within the broader all-of-sport review.

Mark Bradley, Chair of the EA Board, spoke with the National Equestrian Australia Coaching Committee (EACC) to thank them and acknowledged their efforts on behalf of the Board and all EA members. We wish to thank all past and present members who served on the committee for their tireless work behind the scenes and express our gratitude for the accomplishments and improvements achieved by the committee.

There are no immediate changes affecting the current operations for coaches, as EA continue to work with the state coaching committees and state branches to support and service coaches in their day-to-day activities.

This review process will include consultation and feedback from coaches, members and stakeholders to help take coaching forward for the sport.
