Judith Kilby OAM

Judy Kilby received the award of the Medal of the Order of Australia in the Australia Day honours list 2016 for her contribution to the equestrian sport in Tasmania.

Judy has had a life-time involvement as a rider, administrator, coach, judge, course-designer and official.

Her contribution & ongoing commitment has been recognised with Life-Membership of the Pony Club Association of Tasmania, the Northern Zone PCAT, the Tasmanian Pony & Riding Club, the Northern Hunt Club, the Northern Tasmanian Eventing Club (founding member), the Tasmanian Show Jumping Association (founding member), the Westbury Show Society and the Tasmanian Mountain Cattlemens Association (founding member).

Judy was the recipient of the Australian Sports Medal in 2000; The Senior Service Award for the Pony Club Association of Tasmania in 2001; the Service Award Equestrian Tasmania 2013 and Exceptional Voluntary Community Award for the Meander Valley Council in 2015.

As an NCAS EA L2 – Spec Eventing Coach, Coach Educator, Judy has facilitated many coaching courses in both EA & Pony Club mentoring some of Tasmania’s prominent young coaches.

Her passion for XC Course designing spanned 40 years in which time she also officiated as a TD and ran events on the family property. She still has input as a Level 2 SJ course designer.
