Para-Dressage CPEDI3* FEI World Championships Qualifier Postponed

EA High Performance and Boneo Park have made the difficult decision to postpone the Para-Equestrian CPEDI3* competition for the second time due to COVID-19 complications.

The event was scheduled to take place from the 10th to the 13th of March at Boneo Park in Victoria. However, at the time of planning Australian borders remained closed, as did Western Australia borders, making it difficult to secure the required international judges for the competition

The CPEDI3* competition, which will count as an FEI World Championships 2022 qualification event, will now take place as part of the Boneo Park Winter Dressage Championships, from 9th to the 12th June, 2022. The Para-classification day, which had been planned to coincide with the March competition, has also been moved to June.

EA High Performance Para-Equestrian Manager, Stefanie Maraun, said:

“It is unfortunate that we have had to postpone the CPEDI3* event for a second time, however due to the detail involved in organising a CPEDI3* competition we need to be certain we can meet all FEI requirements to ensure our athletes are able to obtain their qualifying scores. With international border closures, and two other CPEDI events running overseas next month, we simply could not secure the required judges for the event to move ahead as planned in March.

“However by moving the CPEDI3* competition to June we are now able to confidently confirm that with Australia’s borders re-opening for international travel next week we have secured the required officials for the event. We would like to thank Fiona Selby and her team at Boneo Park for their unwavering support and assistance in accommodating CPEDI3* competitions so our Australia based athletes are given an opportunity to gain their FEI World Championships qualification on home soil”.

Please be advised that the Leader Equine Dressage Spectacular, organised by Carlton Performance Horses and held at Boneo Park from 7-10 April, will go ahead as planned. The event will also serve as the rescheduled 'Para-Equestrian National Championships 2021,' with a CPEDI3* competition that will count as an FEI World Championships 2022 qualification event.
