Dr Penny Dow appointed EA National Medication Control Officer

Equestrian Australia (EA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Penny Dow as National Medication Control Officer.

A senior diagnostic imaging veterinarian at Scone Equine Hospital in Scone, New South Wales, Penny has been an active member of EA for 25 years as both a rider and official.

Penny is an experienced FEI official and testing veterinarian, has been involved in major EA and FEI Equestrian events as a Veterinarian in such positions as Veterinary Delegate, Veterinary Assistant Delegate, Testing Veterinarian and Treating Veterinarian, across multiple States and has also been involved as an FEI veterinarian at both the Asian and Olympic Games, including being part of the Olympic Veterinary Team in Tokyo Japan as Veterinary Administrator Team Leader (Olympics) and Veterinary Technician Team Leader (Paralympics).

With almost 20 years of veterinary experience involving both medication control within the equestrian disciplines and the racing industry, Penny has acquired vast knowledge and hands-on experience in these areas.

With a strong history in the sport and relationships with many of the sport’s key stakeholders, Penny has an understanding and a compassion towards fellow equestrian athletes and voluntary organising committee members, qualities that will enable her to become a vital part of EA and the National Medication Control Program.

We welcome Penny to the EA team.
