Equitana 2018 EOI

Equestrian Australia (EA) is proud to be involved in the promotion and organisation of the Para-Equestrian events being held at EQUITANA this November. This event will provide not only the EA community but the general-public with an all-encompassing view and understanding of Para-Equestrian, from grassroots all the way to high performance. EA is calling for expressions of interest from a range of para-equestrian riders (grades 1-5) to participate in the EQUITANA Education sessions on Friday the 16th, Saturday the 17th and Sunday the 18th of November.

The first session will cover the Para-Equestrian grades, classification and compensating aids, where each rider will have the opportunity to display how the modification of their equipment assists them in everyday riding. The second will encompass coaching a Para rider and finding a Para-suitable horse. This session will cover the ins and outs of moving from grass-roots to high performance, with a focus on encouraging current coaches to develop their knowledge base to include Para riders. The third and final session will grant an opportunity for current and past high-performance athletes and officials to share their stories and experiences of performing on the international stage, including the Paralympics and Wold Equestrian Games.

There will also be a stall in the pavilion at EQUITANA which will offer the public a chance to register interest and ask questions about the sport. We are also asking for athletes to assist in running the stall.

EOIs must be sent to Stef Maraun ([email protected]) by 31st August 2018 and more information can be attained by contacting Zoe Vorenas ([email protected]).
