Lapsed Coach for more than 2 Years
If an Equestrian Australia (EA) coach has not maintained their accreditation for over two years, they are required to undergo a familiarisation process to ensure they are up to date with current coaching standards, policies, and procedures. This process is essential to maintain the quality and safety of coaching within the equestrian community.
Steps to Complete the Familiarisation Process:
Step 1
Find a Coach Educator in your area who can help and guide you through the process HERE.
Step 2
EA Coach Familiarisation Form: This form is part of the reaccreditation process and ensures that returning coaches are acquainted with current standards and practices. This form can be found on the EA website and must be completed by a current Coach Educator. This must be an in-person assessment and cover the following:
1.Completion of an EA Orientation - Coaching course in person or online
2a. Observation Group lesson - Intro/level OR 2b. Observation Individual Lesson Level 2 & above at specific discipline
3. Familiarisation questions by CE linked to Competencies
4. A reference from Pony Club, EA Coach, HRCAV
5. Risk management procedures, new developments in policies and procedures, and any relevant legislation changes.
6. All Credentials are up to date in line with EA policy - these include Safeguarding Children & Young People, Anti-Doping, WWC, First Aid, EA Concussion Course & ASC Essential Coaching Skills.

Step 3
Purchase and complete the EA Orientation - Coaching Course, this can be done online or in person with an EA Coach Educator HERE. Make sure you upload your certificate to your EA Account once you have completed the course for approval.
Lapsed Coach for Less than 2 Years
If an Equestrian Australia (EA) coach has not maintained their accreditation for less than two years, they are required to attend an in person or online 2 year coach update the information can be found HERE, but can renew their coach membership via their EA account. To ensure compliance standards are met coaches must have an active state membership and must, ensure that all their Credentials are up to date in line with EA policy these include:
- Safeguarding Children & Young People
- Anti-Doping
- WWC
- First Aid
- EA Concussion Course
- ASC Essential Coaching Skills
By following these steps, lapsed coaches can successfully reaccredit and continue contributing to the equestrian community in line with EA's standards and expectations.
